SHHA Report March 2026_Interview with Dr. Tribuno
The average life expectancy in Italy today is around 84 years, but some of these years are spent in poor health. Bridging the gap between living longer and living well is a challenge that also offers great opportunities. Our sector can contribute by developing structures that support active ageing, creating environments that foster dignity, autonomy and community, integrating care when needed
Needs change with age: accessibility, safety, proximity to services, and professional support are essential for quality of life. Families need certainty about caring for their elderly. The new generations of older people want independence and choice. Investing in a continuous and integrated system of living, care and assistance means offering quality solutions and strengthening trust in professional services.
Investing in senior housing and healthcare is not only a development strategy for investors, but also a concrete way to contribute to the well-being and dignity of senior communities by supporting housing models and services that improve the quality of life of older people. With the demographic evolution under way, this sector becomes essential. Now is the time to align capital, policies, and innovation to build the infrastructure of longevity.
Dr. Tribuno, as an SHHA associate, answered some questions that were put to him. Below is the interview published in the March 2026 SHHA Report, distributed at the MIPIM in Cannes
